Last Saturday, dozens of liberals infested our local Main Street to oppose the policies of President Donald Trump. Calling their event “The Human Rights March,” protesters gathered in objection to Trump’s Immigration Order, the wall, and other miscellaneous bumper sticker slogans they could pull out of their beanies.
Freedom of Speech should be honored for all people, as granted in the Constitution. While everyone has the right to express their opinions, using that freedom to misrepresent the views of your opponents is not only deceptive but desperate.
Trump supporters have been misrepresented as being racists, bigots, sexists and xenophobes. Rather than understanding the actual beliefs of conservatives, most heavily opinionated progressives form their own misinterpretations of the foundations behind such principles. According to the liberal playbook, if you can discredit your opponent by portraying them as a bigot, actually formulating a valid argument isn’t necessary.
By the left, Trump’s immigration order is being recognized as a “Muslim Ban.” According to a 2015 Pew Research Report, approximately 13 percent of the world’s Muslim population lives in the countries where Trump made the decision to withhold visas. This means that 87 percent of the world’s Muslim population are still allowed to migrate into the United States. This was not a Muslim ban. This temporary limitation on visas has been simply implemented on countries that consist of a large number of radicalized individuals, who desire America’s destruction. Until the civilized can be identified separate from the radicalized and the vetting process is improved, the order would remain in effect for national security protections. This is similar to the limitation that Democratic President Jimmy Carter placed on Iran during his tenure. It is also quite humorous that while liberals have often claimed that “America should not be the world’s police,” they feel that we should be the word’s Motel 6.
On the topic of illegal immigration: in many cases, legal Mexican immigrants come to the United States to flee Mexico’s drug violence. Without a protective barrier (A.K.A The Trump Wall), Mexico’s crime problem will also become an issue for the United States. Legal Mexican immigrants, who travel to America for a better life, will find the problems (that once mainly existed in their native country) have followed them. Liberals, do they not deserve to be protected? Do legal Mexican immigrants not deserve an assurance that life in America will never become like the low quality of life they had in Mexico? Do they not deserve a wall of protection to separate them from the cartels they sought to escape? You are not only fighting to weaken America’s national security, but to demolish the safety of legal Mexican-American citizens.
Rather than recognizing this as a safety concern, you have turned it into a racial issue. You have ignored facts, common sense and all reason in the name of social justice reform. The reality is that there are bad people in this world, and Mexico has a crime problem. If Mexico did not have a crime problem, truckloads of people would not be trying to escape.
Of course, we should allow immigration from Mexico but only legal immigration. Conservatives are not anti-immigrant, but rather favor immigrants going through the proper process to become American citizens. By being processed, we can identify the criminals from the desired, law-abiding migrants. In order to do this, we must have a secure boarder with a “big beautiful door,” so we can keep track of those who enter and exit. This is solely to protect our people, both American-born-citizens and registered Mexican-American citizens.
Liberals, you are also condoning Hispanic illegal immigrants to partake in borderline slavery. Time and time again, progressives claim that “undocumented immigrants are doing the jobs that American citizens don’t want to do.” Do you think that is right? How are they supposed to advance? In many of these cases, illegal immigrants are involved in hard laboring jobs and work for under minimum wage. Though their work is worth more than their pay, they are unable to report it. They have no grounds to legally demand a higher wage, because they are not legally here.
Until the boarder is secure, there will always be illegal immigrants; there will always be undocumented people taken advantage of. Rather than continuing the traditional Democratic support of involuntary servitude, reject inequitable servitude of Mexican undocumented immigrants by fighting to secure the border and embracing legal immigration.
