Only A Fool Dismisses God

WRITTEN BY: JOE DAN GORMAN

Just so there’s no confusion I’m talking about the Judeo-Christian God, because there is no other God.

And although I’d certainly recommend it— I’m not here to baptize you or save your soul, but to reasonably demonstrate—the absolute foolishness of dismissing God, the Bible and the thousands of years of human history that go with it.

Screen shot 2016-05-31 at 7.10.44 AMFirst of all, irrationally loud-and-angry God-haters are nothing new. Their anti-God ideology, like their worn-out arguments, pre-dates medieval leech healers—and they have no more disproven God today, than they did 2000 years ago… but they’re still really, really, really angry… and loud.

For thousands of years, God & the Bible have been under non-stop attack from the nastiest of Kings, Emperors, scientists and ACLU lawyers. No entity has EVER been subjected to such brutal ‘microscope up the butt scrutiny’ and survived as God and the Bible. That’s right…and survived.

Civilizations have come and gone—but God and the Bible still stand.

Screen shot 2016-05-31 at 7.13.35 AMIf for this amazing historical feat alone—- the bible is deserving of respect, but in our high-tech, highly-evolved, ultra-sophisticated 21st Century America, we ban books…that’s right, we ban books. And the Bible is at the top of the list.

No book written in ancient times has as much archaeological evidence supporting its validity as does the Bible.

Why are we now so afraid of this book? If the Bible is such nonsense as they claim…and if they are so enlightened as they claim, why not simply prove their points and expose us as the frauds that they claim us to be?

Because they cannot…they never could…and they never will.

Now personally, I believe in God because it’s rational and it’s logical.  And if you atheists can stop giggling long enough to pay attention, you might learn something.  Of course, we know that won’t happen.

Let’s start with the popular, but horribly flawed premise that it’s “God versus Science.” This is nonsense, because there are actually many brilliant scientists that believe in God. And they will argue that “God IS Science.” In fact, Christian physicists seem to have the greatest appreciation for the humanly incomprehensible power of God.

From the violently-raging, yet perfectly-efficient nuclear fusion of the Sun (you could almost set your clock by it, lol) to the wonders contained in the tiniest of organisms…and everything in between.  And how all of this fits perfectly together.  One Christian scientist described his work as ‘almost like touching the face of God.’

But politicians, socialists & atheists screw everything up.

Global Warming is big business for the United Nations

Just as our major international science organizations have been corrupted by the lure of massive government grantstied to big-money political agendas like man-made global warming and green energy— a ‘consensus agreement among scientific colleagues’ is now accepted as ‘proof enough’ to ostracize dissenting opinions—and this holds especially true for scientists that dare to believe in Creationism over Darwinism or combinations thereof.

Ben Stein’s documentary “Expelled” is an excellent film on this very topic— of course, as you likely guessed, it was ridiculed and dismissed by the critics as Pro-God propaganda–which means it’s good. [view this movie & other pro-God & Science films at my ‘God, Science & History’ page]

Too many scientists, academics and scholarly types foolishly and arrogantly dismiss the notion of not just God, but anything that could be superior to them.

They can explain 17 different ways to Sunday why something ‘that is not important’ has ‘little to do’ with ‘anything’ you were remotely interested in— in the first place.  BUT… by the time, they finish their overly-convoluted answer, you’ve forgotten your question.  And no way would you ask it again anyway.

BUT they cannot explain something that is as common as water…that is right here—right now.

I wrote this… and you’re reading it by using the most amazing, yet the least understood tool ever known to man… THE MIND (our essence, our soul).

What a glorious and infinite gift. And like God, the mindcannot be seen—but we know it’s there.

Where’d it come from, Mr. Non-Believer?

Yet without this non-physical phenomenon, we wouldn’t even be aware of our physical world.

Screen shot 2016-05-31 at 7.24.27 AMOur mind is who we are and everything we are… our consciousness, our thinking, our reasoning, our perception, our judgement and our free-will. It is our love and our pain, our laughter and our tears.  It is what we write, what we create. It is how we solve, and why we disagree…

Scientists have evidence of many of the ‘physical by-products’ of the mind, i.e. the electrical charges, firing synapses, sweating, laughing crying. etc., but science cannot explain the remarkable unity of this incalculable number of unseen simultaneous non-physical eventswhich are taking place this very instant.  Yet with breathtaking arrogance, most declare with great certainty that there is no God.

C.S. Lewis (1898 –1963)

On the other hand, Christians are not at all perplexed by this, because we know this is our soul.

You don’t have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body. ~ C.S. Lewis

Sadly, most non-believers will never accept this.

But here’s the point:  Based on the existence of our minds….We can conclude with 100% certainty that something profoundly wonderful and highly complex exists… that we cannot see and that we cannot explain.

How many more wonderful things exist that humans cannot comprehend?  We don’t know… we can’t possibly know.  And that’s the point.

The door is always open…

In an honest search for wisdom, knowledge and truth— it is wildly irrational to ‘knowingly’ not consider all possibilities.

If you cannot explain the amazing, the answer is unlikely to be anything less than amazing—and it is foolish to dismiss God as a possibility.

Begging the Question, Argument of Ignorance, Argument from Incredulity, and Appeal to Emotion are all logical fallacies the author should familiarize himself with. Over 2,000 years and counting there has not been one shred of empirical evidence that shows any gods exists let alone the biblical god. The fallacies sited are NOT proof your psychopathic genocidal sadistic magical desert warrior god exists. As much evidence for your god as there is for Krishna, Vishnu, Odin, Zeus, Santa, and the Tooth Fairy. Warm & fuzzy feelings and a complete ignorance of reality and science are not proofs are your god. If your god really existed there would be no need for your faith, religion and your silly post – He/She/It would just reveal itself – that’s because it’s all make-believe. Time to grow-up.

      @ Skeptic NY:
“The fallacies sited are NOT proof your psychopathic genocidal sadistic magical desert warrior god exists.”

You have just CONFIRMED that you believe God exists, however, you do not like the way He is running things. How could you call Him a “psychopathic, genocidal, sadistic, magical, desert warrior” if He does not exist? You are angry with God. That is, if you were God, you wouldn’t allow suffering and death. Suffering and death is a result of man’s rebellion against God, and God is allowing man to learn an eternal lesson in this age of suffering and death.

      ROMANS 8:18-25:
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

What proof is there that a Creator exists, you ask? You have no common sense, creature. Common sense tells me that there cannot be a building without a builder. Buildings don’t build themselves. Creatures don’t create themselves. Einstein said, “In the view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able to recognize, there are yet people who say there is no God. But what makes me angry is that they quote me for support of such views.” And from Sir Isaac Newton came this: “This most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful Being.” One more person you might respect, namely, Louis Pasteur, stated “The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator.” Take a hike, Skeptic, and maybe you’ll understand.

Atheists…. There is no empirical evidence he doesn’t exist. It is much more reasonable to believe a God exists than not. Atheists have gaps to contend with that can’t be explained. The GAP from nothing to something? The GAP from nothing to life? The GAP from nothing to self-awareness? Let the logical fallacies, circular reasoning and red herrings begin………. 

Chuck Halstead – Theists…. There is no empirical evidence that Thor, or Zeus, or Odin, or Krishna, or Vishnu, or Santa, or Spiderman, or Wizards, or The Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy don’t exist either!! Shall we believe in all those too? What a ridiculous and pathetic response. You can’t prove a negative “Einstein”! It is up to the theists to support their silly notion that a god exists. It’s called the BURDEN OF PROOF and it falls squarely on those making a claim – the theists – NOT the atheist. Before you post I suggest you learn a bit of logic.

        Skeptic,
I Know he exists, because he lives within my Heart….
This is called empirical evidence all be it subjective to the one who has faith. Faith by definition is in the unseen, Once we have faith He will reveal himself to You.

There is coming a time, when “every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord.” Even the most ardent of atheist. Even you, my friend, will bow your knee to Him.

        God Bless.

        ROMANS 1:20-21:
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Nice end around your gaping “gap” problems Mr. Something from Nothing. Answers the gap questions. There are only two choices God and No God. Defend your no God theory by explaining the gaps. Tick tock tick tock tick……???

just as I thought ……crickets….. BTW What makes you think that my position is “the negative” (i.e. as in “you can’t prove negative”). Your position in much more tenuous. You’re basically saying something comes from nothing. In what scientific discipline and/or what scientific law can you cite where the nothing yields something? That’s not even a remote possibility? Something from nothing ha! A least posit something stupid like Dawkins and say that an alien space ship came to earth and planted life here. (Which begs the question where did the alien life come from). You’re completely out of touch with cutting edge science and the developing trend where scientists are coming to the conclusion that there must be intelligent design. Evolution is relegated to the uneducated masses and group thinkers.

I just wish that GOD, in His wisdom and omnipotence, would be just a bit more media-savvy in this day and age. I mean, we’re talking about the same God that allegedly created the Universe (just 6,000 years ago, according to some people), flooded the entire Earth, parted the Red Sea, and whose Earthbound avatar came back to life after having assumed room temperature for the better part of a weekend. Why does He insist on taking such a hands-off approach? We have one Book which has been translated and re-translated, interpreted and re-interpreted, until hardly anyone can agree on what it means. We have dozens of Christian denominations, each with its own unique take on what God expects of us. Wouldn’t God be a little more effective in getting us to behave decently toward one another if He would just put together a website or a television channel or at the very least a 1-800 number? There is a wide variety of contemporary social and economic issues I sure would like to get His opinion on.
