Many Christians believe in the inerrancy and infallibility of the King James Bible as the pure – perfect – preserved word of God for the English-speaking people. This article will discuss the origins of the ‘King James Bible Only’ doctrine, present irrefutable proofs that the King James Bible is not perfectly translated into English, and will declare the King James Bible Only doctrine to be false.

Many persons since the early 1600’s have proclaimed that the English people must read the King James Version Bible ONLY, being that it is the inspired, perfect, preserved, pure word of God for the English-speaking people, and all other English translations are inaccurate and / or inferior. This doctrinal belief originated from King James himself. Bishops of the Church of England, under orders of King James, exercising ‘ecclesiastical authority and jurisdiction’ wrote many articles and promoted the distribution and placement of the Authorized Version of the King James Bible in the English churches and elsewhere. It was King James, through the Church of England, that first introduced the concept that the King James Bible translators were inspired by God and that only the Authorized Version King James Bible was inerrant and infallible.

2 TIMOTHY 3:16:
All Scripture is given
by inspiration of God…

The Scriptures, given to us in their original Hebrew and Greek languages, are the inspired word of God. The King James Bible is not the original written Scriptures and was not given to us by the inspiration of God, but is a translation of His given inspired word to the English language. God directly inspired the prophets and apostles to write the Scriptures. King James commissioned translators to translate the Scriptures into English.

There are many Christian ministers that believe that archaic old English is a more godly language than modern English. They like to appear more holy when preaching in the pulpits in old English, saying King James phrases such as, “Thus saith the Lord,” instead of “Thus says the Lord,” or “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name,” instead of “Our Father who is in heaven, Holy is Your name.”

Old English is not a holy language, nor is it any holier than modern English. To believe that old English is the language of God, one is basically worshipping the old English language as being of God. God first communicated to Adam in the garden of Eden, in the language He gave Adam at that time, then later on to Moses in Hebraic. The Scriptures do not record God ever communicating with man in any form of English.

King James Bible Only ministers communicate to their congregations in the confusing old English language in a similar manner that Catholic priests do when conducting their Catholic mass while speaking in Latin. The Catholic congregations are confused, and have no idea of what their priest is saying, because their priest is speaking in a language that they cannot understand. Many Catholics are deceived into believing that Latin is a holy mysterious language that their priest is using to communicate with God. Likewise, King James Bible Only preachers use an old form of English that modern English-speaking persons have difficulty understanding, confusing and deceiving them into believing that old English is the holy language of God.

PSALM 12:6-7 (KJV):
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation
for ever.

King James Bible Only advocates often cite and misapply Psalm 12:6-7 to uphold their doctrine that God preserved His word perfectly in the King James Bible for the English-speaking people. The words of YHWH (the Lord) were preserved in their original Hebrew and Greek language, from the generation in which they were written, and they will be preserved forever. The Scriptures have been kept, copied exactly word-for-word throughout the generations, in the Hebrew and Greek languages that they were written in, have been preserved to this day, and they will be preserved forever. These verses do not in any way state that the words of the Lord were to be preserved in English, in the King James Bible only.

The King James English Bible was completed in 1611. The King James is a translation of God’s pure words. God’s actual pure words were preserved from the generation in which they were written, not since 1611.

Scripture does not declare that God commanded King James of England to translate His Scriptures or that His word was to be preserved perfectly in English by God-inspired translators commissioned by King James.

The King James Version is not a perfect English translation of the Scriptures, nor is there any perfect English translation. Many terms or words used in the original Scriptures are currently unknown, yet they are part of the original Scriptures. Translators therefore cannot translate words that they do not know, and have often best guessed at translating them in times past.

Many modern English speaking people who use a King James Bible need to use an early modern English dictionary to understand their KJ Bible when casually reading it. The King James Bible is hardly a perfect English translation for modern day English speaking persons.

Although there are numerous minor errors in the King James Bible, there are no errors that are so major as to throw believers off course from God, or cause people to lose their salvation, but to proclaim that the King James Bible is a 100% perfect word-for-word inerrant English translation is a misguided belief and false doctrine. The King James Bible is a good translation, but not perfect.

The King James Bible was not the first Bible published in English. The Geneva Bible was first published in 1560. The King James was later released in 1611. The Geneva Bible was the first Bible taken to America and was used by the Pilgrims and Puritans.

Where in Scripture is it written that the King James Bible is the official God-preserved Bible for the English-speaking people? By what authority, other than the authority of King James, do King James Bible Only advocates proclaim that only the Authorized King James Version Bible is the pure, perfect, and preserved word of God for the English-speaking people? Why the King James and not the Geneva or some other English Bible translation?

LEVITICUS 11:20-22 (KJV):
All FOWLS that creep, going on all four
, shall be an abomination to you. Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the BEETLE after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

Screen shot 2016-01-30 at 11.19.54 AM

Fowls or birds do not go on four legs or feet. Flying insects have six legs, four of which are used EXCLUSIVELY for walking (or creeping) with two legs that are also used either as hands or for hind leaping legs. The ‘beetle’ is a translation error in the King James Bible. Beetles do not have special jointed hind legs for leaping upon the Earth. Beetles are not the same kind of insects that locusts, bald locusts, and grasshoppers are.

King James Bible Only defenders sometimes cite the click beetle to explain the beetle error translation. It is estimated that there are about 450,000 different types of beetles in the world. Out of all of those beetles, there are a few that can leap. The click beetle, if inverted on its back, can propel itself without using its legs to return to its feet. The click beetle uses elastic energy in its body and releases it abruptly to launch itself in the air.

The insect, mistranslated ‘beetle’ in the King James Bible, and all the related insects after its kind, are described as having special jointed hind jumping legs to leap upon the earth. The click beetle does not have these types of jumping legs. The King James insect mistranslated ‘beetle’ and ALL beetles after their kind’ do not correctly fit the description of the leaping insects of Leviticus 11:21-22. No species of beetle has special jointed hind jumping legs to leap upon the earth.

The four-footed fowls and beetle(s) translation errors in the King James Bible were properly corrected to ‘flying insects’ and ‘cricket(s)’ in the New King James Bible and are listed as flying insects and cricket(s) in most other English translated versions of Scripture.

NUMBERS 23:22 (KJV):
God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.*

*See also: Numbers 24:8; Deuteronomy 33:17; Job 39:9-10; Psalm 22:21, 29:6, 92:10; Isaiah 34:7.

UnicornKing James Bible Only defenders claim that ‘unicorn’ is not a mistranslation. They defend the use of the term unicorn by saying that it is not the mythical horned horse-like creature, but it is instead a rhinoceros.

The problem with that explanation is that it defies the very thing King James Bible Only defenders proclaim; that the King James is the perfect translated word of God for the English-speaking people. Ask any English-speaking person what a unicorn is, even back in 1611, and they would say it is the mythical horned horse-like creature, not a rhino. King James Bible Only defenders must translate unicorn to rhinoceros to uphold their doctrine of the inerrancy of the King James Bible, because unicorn is not a proper English term for a rhino.

The unicorn translation error in the King James Bible is properly translated to an ox or wild ox in the New King James Bible and most other English translations.

There are many other, mostly minor, translation errors in the King James Bible that are far too numerous to list in this article that have been discovered and listed.

King James Bible Only advocates share a cult-like misguided faith with the Roman Catholic Church. King James Bible Only advocates proclaim that the King James Bible commissioned translators were infallible and produced a perfectly translated English version of the Scriptures. The Catholic Church proclaims that their popes throughout the ages have been, and are, infallible. Infallibility and perfection are attributes of God. The original Scriptures, inspired by God, are infallible, as only God is infallible. No translation of man, or any pope or clergyman, is infallible or perfect – as all men err.

King James Only advocates rhetorically ask, “If the King James Version Bible is NOT the perfect translated word of God into English, then what version is?” This is a presumptive question, like asking, “When was the last time you beat your wife?,” to a man who has never harmed his wife. Catholics, when faced with the errors of Catholic teachings, defend their church by asking the same presumptive type question, “If the Catholic Church is not the one true church, then what church is?

There is no true, pure, perfect, preserved English translation of the Holy Scriptures, just as there is no one true apostolic Christian church that the Roman Catholic Church claims to be.

The Jews are God’s chosen people who were given His perfect word. The Tanakh (Old Testament) Scriptures were written in Hebrew and the B’rit Hadashah (New Testament) Scriptures books were written in either Greek or Hebrew, have been copied word-for-word, and have been preserved. Imperfect translators have translated His perfect preserved word into the English language and other languages.

King James translators were neither perfect nor infallible. God did preserve His perfect word, but His perfect word was not perfectly translated to English for the English-speaking people by King James translators. God’s perfect word was also not perfectly translated to the Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Dutch, French, German, Hungarian, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Moldavian, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, Swiss, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Welch, Yemeni, Zulu, or to any other written language of the world.

The King James Bible is a good, but not perfect, translation of the Holy Scriptures. The King James Bible should be used in conjunction and cross-referenced with the New King James Bible, the Halleluyah Scriptures, and other good versions of Scripture when searching for the truth of God’s word.

After reading Lujack’s article, I am convinced that this man-made doctrine is not true. As a former Catholic cult member turned bible-believing Christian, I can no longer put my faith in any claims of infallibility with regard to ANYTHING but ALMIGHTY GOD AND HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST.
I have studied the charts and read the arguments that uncover the conspiracies relating to purposeful distortion of the scriptures. I can clearly see that many versions of the Bible are wicked deceptions of Satan. However, this does not lead me to conclude that there is therefore one translation that IS perfect; only that there is one translation that is the BEST. Thank you, Mr. Lujack, for your BOLDNESS and insight with regard to God’s Word. This is an important debate among Christians that needs the Light shined upon it and you have done that.

It is trashy and rehash articles like this one that wounded my faith in Christianity over 15 years ago.
This guy is a just a by-product of brainwashed corrupt seminaries.

If you must lie and maintain lies about your faith (or the infallibility of the KJV Bible) in order to have faith, you do not have genuine faith.

The history of the KJV goes back to the very beginning in the first century. To long and detailed to do here. But the KJV translators had hundreds of manuscripts to compare. They put it all together and those thousands of documents agree. I will use just one example. John 3;16 God gave His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON. How dare these modern butchers change that to “one and only”!!!!! The Holy Bible was given to us by Almighty God , as His revelation to the human race of Who He is!!! And unholy hands have ripped and shredded the Holy Text, in a diabolic attempt to remove all the passages that identify God as God. Nit-picking over the name of a beetle is beyond insane. the KJV comes from thousands of historical documents that are genuine and accurate. The historical TRUTH is that for hundreds of years the Roman Catholic hierarchy made bonfires of every copy of the Bible they could confiscate, and made bonfires of the people who owned them, too. It was an unbending law of the RC church that the PEOPLE were FORBIDDEN to read the Bible. Then, in 1963, they lifted that ban. And at the same time they began to flood the market with modern alledged translations, which they claimed were all more accurate than the others. These new versions kept butchering the text until it is hardly recognizable. they still keep up their pompous lie, “don’t read the KJV”. It is a tactic of the devil to confuse people and rob them of the power of redemption that is in the pure preserved Word of God. Every word spoken by any human being badmouthing the KJV is a word inspired by Hell. That “more accurate” lie is the devil’s poisoned kool-aid the devil and the Catholic church want you to swallow so your soul will die. the entrance of God’s true Word gives LIGHT to the soul. Read KJV and let the light shine and do not listen to the devil’s pitchmen with their slight of hand lying doubletalk

KJV Was translated with a gun up to their heads, by order of King James; that every word would be true to the original scrolls.
God made a way where there was no way-for Gods Children to know The Truth.
I do use the NIV Bible for study purposes, but when I quote the scriptures-I always repeat King James Version Holy Bible only.

The English translators have removed the only Name that has Salvation in it.
Any translation that clarifies the meaning of the Greek word ekklhsia (ekklesia) as the congregation of those who are summoned or called out unto Yahweh;   (2) restores the Hebrew-based proper name of Yahweh (hwhy, and its short form hy, written in English as Yahweh and Yah), that was removed and replaced by the generic title kuriov (written in English as the LORD) during the translation in Egypt of the Greek Septuagint;   (3) shows the Hebrew-based proper name of Father, Yahweh, in italics in the New Testament where there is clear evidence that the text references a passage containing His Name in the Old Testament Hebrew manuscripts;   (4) restores the Hebrew-based proper NAME of the Messiah (evwhy, written in English as YAHshua, meaning Yah is salvation), given by the angel Gabriel, which has been continually revised, with its meaning obscured, as it was translated through Greek, Latin, and English languages.   “The Proper Name Version of the King James Bible” is presented in the belief that it will enable a greater depth of study and understanding of Yahweh and His Word.

    God is only a title not a name. IsaYAH 42: 5 ¶ Thus says Yahweh, He that created the heavens, and stretched them out; He that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; He that gives breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: 6 I Yahweh have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

Prov. 30: 3 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy One. 4 Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment? who has established all the ends of the earth? WHAT IS HIS NAME, and WHAT IS HIS SON’S NAME tell me, if you can. 5 Every word of YAHWEH is pure: He is a shield to them that put their trust in Him. 6 Add you not to His words, lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar.
Luke 1: 31 And, behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name YAHSHUA. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and YAHWEH His Father shall give to Him the throne of His father David:
Yahchanan ( John ) 1: 29 ¶ The next day John saw Yahshua coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of YAHWEH, which takes away the sin of the world.

1 Yahchanan 2: 2:1 ¶ My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Yahshua the Messiah the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Acts 2: 21 And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the NAME of the YAHweh shall be saved. 22 You men of Israel, hear these words; YAHshua of Nazareth, a man approved of YAHweh among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which YAHweh did by Him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know:
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of YAHweh, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 Whom YAHweh has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that He should be held of it. 25 For David speaks concerning Him, I foresaw Yahweh always before my face, for He is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: 27 Because You will not leave my soul in hades, neither will you allow your Holy One ( Yahshua ) to see corruption. 28 You have made known to me the ways of life; you shall make me full of joy with your countenance. 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day. 30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that YAHweh had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Messiah ( Yahshua ) to sit on his throne; 31 He seeing this before spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that His soul was not left in hades, neither His flesh did see corruption. 32 This YAHshua has YAHweh raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of YAHweh exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has shed forth this, which you now see and hear. 34 For David has not ascended into the heavens: but he said himself, That YAHweh said to my Ruler, Sit you on My right hand, 35 Until I make your foes your footstool. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that YAHweh has made that same YAHshua, whom you have crucified, both King and the Messiah. 37 ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of YAHshua the Messiah for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as YAHweh our Father shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation. 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added to them about three thousand souls. 42 ¶ And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
Acts 4   4:1 ¶ And as they spoke to the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, 2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through YAHshua the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now evening. 4 However many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. 5 ¶ And it came to pass on the next day, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, 6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or BY WHAT NAME, have you done this? 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 9 If we this day are questioned of the good deed done to the weak man, by what means he is made whole; 10 Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of YAHshua the Messiah of
Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom YAHweh raised from the dead, even by Him does this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nothing by you builders, which has become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: FOR THERE IS NO OTHER NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with YAHshua. 14 And seeing the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 15 ¶ But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle has been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. 17 But that it spreads no further among the people, let us straightly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man IN THIS NAME. 18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in THE NAME OF YAHshua. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of YAHweh to listen to you more than to YAHweh, judge you. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. 21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing that they might punish them for, because of the people: for all men glorified YAHweh for that which was done.

John 14   14:1 ¶ Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in YAHweh, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
13 And whatever you shall ask in My NAME, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you shall ask anything in MY NAME, I will do it.

John 17   17:1 ¶ These words spoke Yahshua, and lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that your Son also may glorify You: 2 As you have given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true Father, and YAHshua the Messiah, whom You have sent. 4 I have glorified You on the earth: I have finished the work which you gave me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify You Me with Your Own Self with the glory which I had with you before the world was. 6 ¶ I have manifested Your NAME to the men which You gave Me out of the world: Yours they were, and You gave them Me; and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they have known that all things whatever You have given Me are of You. 8 For I have given to them the words which You gave Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from You, and they have believed that You did send me. 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which You have given me; for they are Yours. 10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I am glorified in them.

Remember GOD is only a title not a NAME. 2 Cor. 4: 3 But if our message is
hidden, it is hidden to them that are lost: 4 In whom the GOD of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious message of the Messiah, who is the image of YAHweh, should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but the Messiah YAHshua our King; and ourselves your servants for YAHshua’s sake. 6 For YAHweh, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of YAHweh in the face of YAHshua the Messiah. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of YAHweh, and not of us.

There are many Translations & Versions which are good, each has their limitations and benefits… and there are a plethora more who’s verbiage is questionable at best in key passages which slant towards a man made agenda. The best way is to read several in parallel, and have your concordances and word studies from the ‘originals’ and compare both the Septuagint (OLD & NEW) along side the Hebrew/Greek – eventually you will come to see that we do indeed have an accurate version/translation today and that all we really need to do is study to show ourselves approved which requires us to read it IN HARMONY without an agenda other than seeking the truth.
