Donald Trump is currently the leading Republican Presidential candidate, that I hope will not be on the ballot in November of 2016…though I’ve grown to love the guy!
My husband and I disagree on Trump’s motivation for running. I say it’s entirely based on love for his country, my husband believes his intention is to stay in just long enough to stir things up, and then jump out of the race. I’ve heard variations of this theory in conservative circles too…that Trump’s not in this race to win it.
I don’t believe for a moment that Donald Trump ever plays to lose. He is definitely in this race to go all the way and win!
I’ve payed some extra close attention to Trump since the FOX debate earlier this month. I’ve concluded that this man is driven by the greatest motive of all, concern for others. He doesn’t need to be President. He already has power, prestige, and privilege. For Trump holding the office of President of the United States would be a sacrifice. The service would cost him in every way imaginable.
Our founding fathers took great personal risks when they led America out from under its historical oppressors. Though I am not equating Donald Trump to these men, he stands out as one candidate willing to take risks, as he makes this effort to free our nation from modern day oppressors.
Trump’s theme is “Make America Great Again!” He claims to be willing to spend a billion of his own dollars, if that’s what it takes to finish and win.
There are other conservative candidates that also have strong, unselfish, and sacrificial motives for being in this race. Ted Cruz and Dr. Ben Carson have demonstrated their willingness to take risks to save our nation. They were out working for this cause long before Trump. But for now they are overshadowed by a very rich man, who is saying, convincingly so, that he loves this country and wants to save it from itself!
For that motivation I support Mr. Trump in his candidacy for President of the United States. Though I still hope not to be voting for him in 2016!
