On the first episode of Season 6, that aired on March 3, 2013, Donald Trump made a joke about Brande Roderick being on her knees in the beginning of the episode.
Roderick wanted to be the project manager for her team, dropped to her knees pleading with Bret Michaels to be the project manager. “Hello!” Michaels shouted. “As the only winner, I am going to stand over here [next to Brande] a minute, and let her beg.”
At the end of the episode, during the teem meeting with Donald, Ivanka, and Piers Morgan, Donald asked Michaels why Roderick was the project manager. Michaels told Donald that Roderick dropped to her knees, begging for the position.
“You dropped to your knees?” Donald asked Roderick.
“Yes,” Roderick responded.
“And begged to do this,” said Michaels.
“That must be a pretty picture, you dropped to your knees,” Donald said jokingly.
Michaels snickered, and Morgan laughed.
Donald looked at Morgan and made a humorous expression. Michaels did not appear to be offended, and in a recent interview with MSNBC, she didn’t even remember that Trump had made that statement.
At the time, she took his remark as a joke.
While the joke was suggestive, and is rather inappropriate, he did not mean it as being derogatory, but as being a joke.
Megyn Kelly had no right to use this as an example of a “war waged on women,” when the woman that was the subject of Trump’s joke was not offended, nor did she appear to be.
Once again, the media has made a mountain out of a mole hill to try to discredit Donald Trump.
