The True Significance of the Rainbow

Last week the White house lit up with rainbow colors, as did numerous business outlets; Overstock, Facebook, WordPress, Chase Banks, Target, K-Mart, Ben and Jerry, Panera, U Tube, Uber, Delta, Skittles, Totinos Pizza, Honey Made Grahams, Visa, Chipolte, Game of Thrones, The Gap, Starbucks, and Cheerios, to name a few.

The rainbow has an interesting history. God sent the first one as a sign to the biblical Noah, that He would never again judge mankind with a worldwide flood. The sign was a promise, and a reminder, of what God is and is not willing to do to stop the raging sinful antics of mankind.

It would seem that the rainbow is an unfortunate choice as a symbol for those whose raging sinful antics are at this very moment angering the God who is still capable of destroying mankind with worldwide judgment.

When it rains on a sunny day I look up for the symbol of God’s love, and thank Him for forgiving me and making me His child. When I see a rainbow emblazoned across the faces of former Facebook buddies I pause to remember that God’s love is not forced on those who insist on rejecting Him. Though His judgment will never again be through a worldwide flood, it will be worldwide, and it will be just as devastating.

In the end of these evil days God the Son will be seen again as He returns to rule and reign. His rainbow will also be seen again, and be fully realized as a sign for His glory and power.

(The Apostle John) “After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, ‘Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.’ At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne… and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald…” (Revelation 4:1-3/ESV)

The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christ-followers to see God’s Big Picture and be a part of it. Adonai Eloheinu!

The rainbow was co-opted by the Gay community as a symbol of diversity. Sorry if that gets your panties in a twist.

Forgive me Chuck, If I let off a little steam. In the video, that dweeb is how I picture most atheists. They think they are smart, but they are fools, living off their mom and dad’s paycheck in a university setting with no responsibility but to go to internet sites and make juvenile ill thought comments.
For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:21-22)
To Us, It is obvious what foolishness they prescribe to, but they have suppressed the truth so much that they are ignorant of their stupidity. Its almost laughable, if it were not for the seriousness of their blasphemy against God.
