Yesterday I was bullied by an overtly gay clerk at a retail store. An hour later I withdrew cash from my Chase ATM and was directed by their onscreen advertising to acknowledge the LGBTQ community. Tonight I plan to be in a lakeside community with many prominent “Rainbow” exhibits, informing me that people there have surgically “changed” genders, are dressing like their “other” gender, may think they “are” another gender, or are just proud to be in “non-traditional” sexual relationships. My reaction? I wish I could just not care!
I’m becoming burned out emotionally from the onslaught of “gayness.” I get it. There are people who do not want to be “normal.” I don’t believe it is my business to “fix” them. I do believe that I know the answer to their problems, but they don’t want to hear it. So, I’m OK with leaving them alone. But they won’t leave me alone!
I am a believer in God’s Word, which says that sin is not going to be overlooked. Sexual immorality is sin. This is never going to change, regardless of how many religious leaders abandon the Word.
I know that most will refuse God’s gift of forgiveness. Most will not acknowledge their need for a Savior. I’m sad for those who insist on continuing in a spiritual condition of guilt before their Creator. But I can’t change their minds. Only God’s Spirit can change hardened sinners.
It would be nice if I did not have to be reminded every day that people are rejecting God, and freely choosing to be separated from Him forever. But that day is one only to be realized when Jesus Himself rules on David’s throne in Jerusalem. I am truly looking forward to that day!
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. Before Him will be gathered all the nations, and He will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And He will place the sheep on His right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’…Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels’…And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:31-46/ESV)
