Elementary School Has ‘Lesbian Wedding Couple’ in Polar Plunge

BUCKHANNON, WV – During the Buckhannon Academy Elementary School Polar Plunge PTO fundraiser, two females portraying as a lesbian wedding couple “took the plunge for Academy.” They were featured at the event and were praised by the organizers.

According to a video obtained by Cowger Nation, the two females walked down into the water as the song, “Cold As Ice,” was played. As they were exiting the river, the emcee asked the ‘couple’ if they had a good honeymoon. Several pictures taken at the event show that the two girls were joined arm and arm throughout much of the gathering. Some individuals are questioning if there was even any consideration on the propriety of allowing and encouraging such a display, especially considering that the event was specifically for children K-5. With West Virginia currently battling a lawsuit against the state’s ban on same-sex marriage, others are questioning if this was a small political statement and an attempt to normalize homosexual marriage. The intention of this possible ‘stunt’ is for you to decide, but it is mutually agreeable among Christians and conservatives that it was definitely not suitable for this occasion.

Did the parents whose children were exposed to this event approve? Were they given the opportunity to opt their children out of this display? Is it only same sex marriages that are celebrated as normal in this school system or do they also promote opposite sex marriages or maybe promote unwed motherhood too? Is it appropriate to expose prepubescent children to sexual content without parental consent? Not in my book. This is political propaganda in public schools, which has been outlawed in England. Totally inappropriate.

Anyone could sign up. No one even knew that they were going to do this, other than the organizers of the event.

If people were really going to opt out of the event because of this, fuck them. If you’re so disgusted by gay people you can’t even look at them you’re completely un-American in my book.

So just in case there was any question. This was a costume contest to win prizes at a polar plunge. These kids were just that kids dressed up for a costume contest, they were not making a political statement. This whole thing was totally made up by Mr. Cowger. Its shameful that you would take pictures of kids and make up a story to make news on your website. I was at the plunge. Were you? Nope. I don’t remember seeing you. I think you may be in the same class as these girls in school. Would this be considered bullying? Personal issues?

I am not even sure where to start on this one. First of all…get your facts straight. The “lesbian couple” you so innacurately portray are actually sisters. Strike one. Secondly, they were dressed up for the costume contest which was part of the event itself. As you can see, they are holding a sign which reads, “Taking the Plunge for Academy”. Obviously supporting the cause of raising funds for a new playground and NOT making any sort of political statement regarding the state’s ban on same sex marriage. Strike two. Lastly, who are these “others” who were present that questioned this? Easy to throw that out there to support your spin. Strike three Cowger. You’re out. If only…
